My Tips For A Beautiful, Healthy Skin

Hi girls.
Throughout a few years of being a blogger I've been discovering what works for my face and I've also learned about a few tips online. Today I wanted to share with you what I do for my skin, to make it look flawless even without wearing any makeup. Of course my skin is not perfect, but that's how I maintain it. 

I keep my skincare quite simple and only add more products when I need more help with impurities or such. Some people say makeup will damage your skin, which is totally not true, however if you do not take care of your skin with proper products and not removing makeup entirely, it could have some effect (impurities, dryness...). Because when you look at someone who isn't wearing makeup at all, they usually have quite nice skin (maybe some hormonal breakouts and such if you're prone to it).

Skozi leta bloganja in moje raziskovanja izdelkov za nego kože obraza, sem ugotovila kaj odgovarja moji koži. Prav tako sem nekaj nasvetov spoznala na spletu. Zato bom danes z vami delila, kaj sama počnem s svojo kožo, da je čista in brez nepravilnosti tudi ko ne nosim ličil. Seveda ni popolna ampak jo skušam čim bolje negovati.

Moja rutina nege kože obraza je običajno preprosta in ko se pojavijo kakšne nepravilnosti ali spremembe, dodam izdelek ali da. Verjetno tudi poznate mit o tem, da ličila uničijo kožo, kar sploh ni res, vendar, če ličil ne odstranite dobro ter kožo nato negujete, lahko imajo ličila nanjo vpliv (nepravilnosti, izsušenost...).



1. Always make sure your skin is very clean after using makeup

After a long day of wearing makeup I would always double cleanse. It's a known method. However if you're not familiar with it. First step is removing makeup with micellar water or such (sometimes I use Makeup Removing Milk; applied on two cotton pads and gently rubbing onto the skin). Some micellar waters have instructions which say that you don't need to wash them off. I don't think that's good ! So after removing your mascara and all the foundation, you would use a cleansing gel (or cleansing milk), massaging it onto wet skin. Even better is to use a cleansing face brush which really gets into those pores and cleans them out. Usually the brush would be loaded with leftover foundation and only then you realise that it's important to double cleanse. Of course in the morning I would only cleanse with gentle gel cleanser.

Zelo pomemben korak v rutini - še posebej če nosite ličila, je dvojno čiščenje. O tem je bilo že veliko govora, ampak naj še sama omenim ta postopek, katerega se vedno držim. Najprej je potrebno z obraza odstraniti ličila: sama uporabljam micelarno vodo ali kaj podobnega (včasih tudi čistilno mleko katero nanesem na dve vatici ter z njima "obrišem" ličila s kože). Nekateri pravijo, da micelarne vode ni potrebno spirati, ampak svetujem da jo vseeno sperete. Torej po odstranjevanju ličil sledi še globinsko čiščenje, za katerega sama uporabim kakšen gel za umivanje obraza, včasih v kombinaciji s krtačko za obraz, na kateri se dobro opazijo ostanki pudra, ko je ta odstranjen. Takrat se zaveš koliko ostane v porah, česar ne vidiš. Seveda zjutraj uporabim samo nežno čistilo za obraz.

2. Use products customised for your skin

It is very good to know what type your skin is and how you should treat it. Because if you're doing it wrong, you can do more harm than good to your skin. If you have nobody to tell you more about it, you can ask any dermatologist to define your skin type. Sometimes you can find more professional people at Pharmacies.
So when you know your skin, it's easier to shop for products. For my oily skin, I would use gentle face washes but always gel because it cleanses the skin nicely. And I usually need mattifying cream for daily use. Though I also need some hydration, which I manage with light serums and such.

Zelo dobro je poznati svoj tip kože in kako jo negovati. Ker, če to počnete nepravilno, lahko storite več škode kot pa koristi. Če ne poznate nikogar, ki bi vam pomagal, se je vedno dobro obrniti na profesionalce: dermatolog ali svetovalci v lekarnah (tisti, ki vedo o čem govorijo ali pa lahko tudi z napravico testirajo kožo).
Ko poznaš svojo kožo, je tudi lažje nakupovati izdelke. Tako sama za svojo mastno kožo vem, da morem uporabljati nežna čistila, običajno v obliki gela, da dobro očistim kožo vendar je ne izsušim. Čez dan uporabljam matirno kremo. Ker pa je lahko povrhnjica včasih izsušena, povrnem hidracijo s serumi in podobno.

3. Hydration is the key

They say you should drink around 3 liters of water per day (as a woman). I'm lucky to find the "taste" of water very refreshing so I don't mind drinking a lot of water. Though I definitely don't drink enough of it. But if you get very dehydrated, your skin will show because if will become a bit more dull and dry to be honest. It's funny how when I drink alcohol, I wake up with a glowy skin even though it dehydrated me, but I usually drink 1 liter of water during the night to not get hangover.

Tudi hidracija telesa se pozna na koži. Ženske naj bi na dan spile povprečno 3 litre vode. Sama imam rada vodo, zato mi ni težko pri tem, čeprav vem, da ne dosežem določene količine. Ko pa se ne hidriramo dovolj, postane koža bolj suha ali nesijoča. Čeprav včasih ko pijem alkohol (ki naj bi zelo dehidriral), se zbudim z lepo sijočo kožo, saj vedno čez noč spijem liter vode, da nimam takšnega mačka.

4. Every skin type needs good hydrating products

Even if your skin is oily like mine, you still need hydrating products. So because I don't hydrate my skin during the day, I make sure I use something very nourishing at night. That way I replenish my skin. Plus they say if you use oils (but light, not comedogenic ones) the skin will work in opposite way and won't produce any more oil (sebum) because it has enough of it already.

Zmotno je, da mastna koža ne potrebuje hidracije. Seveda jo, še posebej če uporabljate bolj agresivne izdelke. Če je ne hidrirate čez dan, pa jo vsaj čez noč, ko se obnavlja. Prav tako mastni koži pašejo olja, saj nato ne proizvaja dodatnih olj. Pri čemer morate paziti, da ta niso komedogena. 

5. Use Masks & Scrubs when needed

So when my skin breaks out, I make sure to adjust my skincare and use an extra mask here or there. Face scrubs are recommended (to remove layer of dead cells and makeup glides on easier), however I only use it once per month. And because my skin is not accustomed to masks and such, when I use them, they work more effectively. When I get just one pimple, I only use The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil drops on that spot and not focus on the entire skin. I think overuse of masks & especially scrubs is not good for your skin.

Menim, da je uporaba mask in piling priporočljiva le po potrebi. Recimo, ko moja koža rabi nekaj ekstra, dodam masko (vlažilno ali čistilno..). Prav tako piling obraza opravim le enkrat na mesec, toliko, da se odstranijo mrtvi delci kože in se ličila lažje nanašajo. Ker moje kože ne razvajam pretirano z maskami, ta ni že navajena teh in ko uporabim kakšno masko, so te bolj učinkovite. Ko pa dobim samo kakšen mozoljček ali dva, uporabim TBS Tea Tree oljne kapljice le na teh težavnih področjih, saj preostal del kože ne potrebuje dodatne iritacije. 

6. Less is more

To me, I'd rather have a simple skincare routine: cleansing gel, toner, cream/serum. And makeup remover when wearing makeup. I think for me it works better that way, so I don't clog my pores and don't mix too many ingredients. And when a breakout happens, I would not have trouble eliminating too many products.

Sama imam v rutini raje manj izdelkov: čistilni gel, tonik ter krema ali serum + odstranjevalec ličil, ko jih nosim. To deluje na moji koži in ne izdelki ne mašijo mojih por. Ko pa testiram kakšen nov izdelek, le tega dodam in nimam problema izločiti veliko izdelkov.

7. Let the skin breathe

From time to time, it's good to have a no-makeup day. Of course you skin does not literally breathe, but just let it not cope with any products and not clog the pores. Sometimes I would even have a day without using any skincare products and let the oils on the skin work and nothing bad happens. I just let it me natural.

Koži rada pustim, da tu in tam "zadiha". Seveda koža ne diha dobesedno, vendar imam včasih dan brez ličil, ki mi včasih mašijo pore. Prav tako včasih ne uporabim izdelkov za nego kože ter se izognem dodatnim sestavinam; olja pa se na koži sama proizvajajo. Nikoli se ji še ni nič groznega zgodilo in včasih prav prija: še posebej poleti. 

p.s. These are just my tips which you could try or not. I realise every skin is different and reacts differently so choose your products wisely.
